4.1 Overview
The category manager is a visual set of tools that has been
designed to be user friendly and simple to use. It should be self-explanatory in
most cases.
With the Store manager, you can do the following:
- Create categories. You can also add batches of categories.
- Delete entire categories with subcategories and contents.
- Rename categories.
- Supply description and keywords for each category. The description
and keywords can be used for meta tags in category pages if you run a static Store.
- Add related categories for any category.
- Lock categories so that end-users cannot submit URLs to
categories you have chosen to lock.
- You can add 1 product at a time or anything from 1-5 at
a time in a category.
- You can also import data into categories via the import
function.
- You can edit, delete, move or copy products.
- You can crawl URLs for titles, meta descriptions and meta
keywords in a category. These product listings can then be added to the category
where the URLs was crawled from.
- You can define or assign your own custom html templates
to categories.
- You can target banners at the categories of your choice.
- Preview categories. The preview will display what end users
see when they browse your Store.
4.2 How
to add a category
You can add a category by clicking the 'Add New Cat' Button in the 'Store
Manager' - This button will be present in every category you browse in the
Store manager so that you can add sub categories where-ever your are.
4.3 Deleting a category

|
4.6 How to cross link categories
You can crosslink a category by adding a category. Crosslinks
function as symbolic links to real categories. This means that you can have
cross linked categories in any location or category that links to specific
categories.
For example:
Let’s say you have a category called:
Sports_Shirts/
You could then for example create a crosslink that goes to the category:
Golf_Shirts/ |

|
The crosslink could then for example be:
Golf_Shirts/
When end-users click:
Golf_Shirts/
they’ll actually be going to:
Sports_Shirts/
4.6.1 How to add cross links
Click the 'Add Cat' button when inside a category from the 'Store Manager'.
Go to the parent window where you clicked the 'Add Cat' button and browse the
categories until you find the category that you would like linked to the new category
you are about to create.
When moving your mouse over any category, the browser's status bar will display
the category ID. Go back to the 'Add New Category' window and enter the

effect on categories that has been cross linked.

Complete the blank fields with the products you want to add. Complete the number
of boxes according to the number of products you want to add. You don't have to
